Discover the North West locations use in BBC One’s Sherwood

As another must-see BBC TV drama hits our screens, we have the pleasure of revealing the North West locations UK Locations provided for the show.

Sherwood, a six-part series that started on BBC One on Monday 13th June 2022, centres around a murder investigation taking place in a former Nottinghamshire mining community.

Starring Joanne Froggatt, David Morrissey and Alun Armstrong, the show includes scenes shot at one of our most popular commercial locations and another at an industrial Manchester apartment.

Martins Bank, Liverpool

The production team working on the series selected Grade II listed building, Martins Bank (aka location #2892), for one part of the series. But it’s not the ornate features of the grand hall or upper floors that you’ll see in the show; it’s the building’s impressive vaults that were used as a location.

Industrial apartment, Manchester

At one point in the series, one of the main characters is staying over at his son’s apartment, sleeping on the sofa, when he receives a call to let him know he has to go back to Nottingham.

The stylish apartment he’s staying in, whose exposed brick walls reveal the building’s former identity as a mill, is none other than location #2752.

Sherwood is on BBC One every Monday evening at 9pm, with the final episode of the series airing on Monday 18th July 2022. You can also catch up on the BBC iPlayer.
