The benefits
Everyone we work with gets VIP treatment – especially the people we’ve chosen to be our partners. With UK Locations, you’re much more than a listing on a site; you’re at the heart of what we do. We invest time and resources in training you and promoting your property as a shoot location, so we can offer the best possible service and attract the most respectful, trustworthy and highest paying clients.

VIP LOCATION PARTNER PACKAGE
We don’t ask our location partners to pay a fee to be on our library. Quite the opposite; we invest in them. Our industry-first VIP Partner Package is worth more than £2,000 and includes coaching, professional photography, videos and 360° virtual recces that highlight the full potential of your location for high-profile shoots.
ONGOING STRATEGIC PROMOTION
With a dedicated sales and marketing team, we’re constantly working to promote the locations in our library both digitally (with website SEO, newsletters, Google AdWord campaigns, and social media) and face-to-face (as speakers on panels, at networking events, and in meetings with clients and broadcasters).
A SERVICE LIKE NO OTHER
The secret to our success is in the quality of the service we offer – and the secret to the high-quality service we offer is in the way we treat our location partners. Once we’ve identified a location as being suitable for our library, we develop an exclusive partnership that’s based on trust, respect and mutual benefit.
HIGH-END, HIGH-INCOME SHOOTS
Because we’ve earned a reputation for providing high-end and hard-to-reach commercial and residential locations across the UK, we’re able to bring you prestigious bookings and lucrative outcomes.
SECURE PAYMENT
We pay all our Location Partners within 30 days of a shoot, even if the client hasn’t paid us. It’s not standard for the industry, but we do it anyway because we believe it’s the right way to treat our partners.
WATERTIGHT LEGAL CONTRACTS
We protect you and your property with a watertight ‘Contract for Hire’ developed by our award-winning lawyers, Lewis Nadas Law. This contract favours your needs and has already been signed off for use by all the major broadcasters (Netflix, Amazon, Sky TV, BBC, ITV, Disney+).

Why UK Locations?
We have a reputation for excellence and have maintained a track record of continued success for more than 15 years. With the UK’s screen industries simultaneously entering a new ‘Golden Age’ and production at an all-time high, the future’s looking very bright indeed.

We’ve been serving the film, TV and advertising industries since 2006, when we became the North of England’s first location agency. Since then, we’ve grown our team, expanded our coverage, refined our library, and built up an enviable and loyal network of clients, including Adidas, Netflix, and Amazon – and it’s still just the beginning…
A glowing reputation
Because we’re known for our fast, reliable, and hassle-free approach, we get to work with the nation’s leading broadcasters and brands on everything from advertising campaigns and glossy magazine shoots to some of the UK’s top TV dramas and films. This varies from hundreds to thousands of pounds per day. Fees are based on the size and duration of a shoot; more time and more people mean more disruption and, therefore, higher fees.
Beyond this, each location has its own sliding scale based on our professional knowledge and experience of what clients are willing to pay for a particular type of location in a certain geographical area.
In any case, you can rest assured that we negotiate the best fees for you. What’s good for you is good for us too, after all.
You might’ve noticed that we don’t talk about location ‘hosts’ – we call you Location Partners. That’s because we recognise that it’s a true partnership; you provide the location and we use our industry expertise to make sure that it’s presented, promoted and protected in the best possible way. As part of this, we:
- Take professional photographs of your property to use on your property’s profile page in our online location library
- Create a 360 virtual ‘recce’ of your property to increase interest and minimise disruption to you
- Alert our client network to the addition of your location to our library
- Actively propose the use of your location in response to relevant client briefs
- Continuously promote your property as a shoot location through various marketing channels
- Vet potential hirers to spare you (and us) hassle further down the line
- Field all communication, contacting you only when key decisions need to be taken
- Arrange viewings (these are also known as recces)
- Negotiate the best hire fee
- Handle the legal contract and insurance documents
- Manage any post-shoot work on your behalf (arranging to get forgotten items back to production teams, etc)
Yes. We are GDPR compliant and committed to safeguarding your personal information.
Access to the personal information you provide as part of the registration process is strictly limited to the UK Locations team. If you subsequently become an official Location Partner, your property will be added to our online location library under a 4-digit reference code. Any clients who choose your location for a shoot are bound by our contracts to protect your personal information.
Please see our Privacy Policy for further details about how we use data and protect your personal information.
It’s really important that you take clear and relevant images of your property so that we can decide very quickly if we are the right Location Partner for you. The following guidelines are designed to help with this.
THE IMAGES WE NEED (please send a maximum of 10):
- 1 x front of the property
- 1 x back of the property (including garden if relevant)
- 2 x kitchen (taken from different corners of the room)
- 2 x living room (taken from different corners of the room)
- 2 x any other large rooms (taken from different corners of the room)
GETTING THE BEST IMAGE – KEY POINTS TO FOLLOW:
- Take the photos on your phone (please avoid using specialist camera equipment such as a fish-eye lens)
- The images need to be landscape (turn your phone horizontally when taking the photo)
- Take photos in natural light (during the day)
- No cars, people or animals in the photos
- No close-up shots
- Stand as far back as you can to photograph as much of the room as possible
- It’s very important to photograph your property looking clean, tidy and presentable
- If you have a floor plan of your property, please send it to us, as this is a huge help to our clients when they’re looking at prospective locations to film or shoot
These visits are called ‘recces’ and usually, the first recce will be done by the Director, Designer, Producer and Location Manager. They will look at the property and make brief notes as to its suitability and may take interior/exterior photos for reference. We’ll send you a text on the morning of the visit to remind you that they’re coming.
If they’re considering using your location extensively, perhaps as a central location in a big production, they might do more than one recce. It requires a little more of your time in the early stages, but the financial rewards are generally bigger on these types of productions, so it’s worth your while!
The client may be looking at a number of different locations, so it can take them from a day to a week to make a final decision on which property to use for their project. We will get in touch with you as soon as possible to let you know if they’d like to use your property, or not, on this occasion.
UK Locations will agree the best possible fee for the use of your property and confirm that you’re happy with the terms and conditions of the use of your property. We’d then issue a contract between yourself and the client wishing to use your property. UK Locations will ensure that the client has valid Public Liability Insurance. We will issue a copy of our terms and conditions for you and also for clients wishing to hire locations at this stage.
Once we’re happy that the location hire contract and insurance are in place a filming itinerary will be arranged. The film crew may need to do another recce with more of their team, including cameramen and lighting technicians. You’ll have a full itinerary of when the crew may need access to your property.
The film crew will have an early start on the day and the technicians will expect to be able to work inside your property or business with ease. It is vital the areas being used for filming are clean, tidy and uncluttered. The crew will expect to be able to work inside the property uninterrupted and will require the telephone to be unplugged and for there to be no unnecessary interference or noise.
A legal contract is in place to cover you and the client for every eventuality. The contract stipulates that your property will be returned to how it was before any filming or photography took place, and should anything get damaged it will be repaired to your satisfaction or replaced. It’s not unusual for the crew to hire a location for an extra day after filming is completed, to allow time to properly reinstate the property. It is our role as your Location Partner to manage this process, so that it does not take up your time.
We pay you via bank transfer within 30 days of the shoot, even if we haven’t been paid. This is our commitment to you.
